DT Hero: A Stress Killing Game for Creative Coders
Conquer the codes, be DT heroes!
DT Hero is a processing game that I created during the "boot camp," an intense practice period for MFA Design & Technology 1 year students before starting the semester.
We were learning various programming languages during the boot camp. Learning code was totally new to me, so I sometimes felt like I was fighting with programming languages to overcome and conquer them. So, I came up with this funny idea, that has a metaphor, that DTers (DT students) defeat programming languages which we should master during the graduate program.
Each character represents each level, so the highest level is a master of technology, a Design & Technology boot camp director.
A Stress Killing Game for Creative Coders
Context & Target Users
During 1 month of Bootcamp which was a pre-training to learn various emerging technologies in design, programming and user experience, before starting off Parsons Design and Technology master's program that focuses on, many of us stressed out by the intensive learning to digest various codes and tools in a short period. Considering their needs of a stress-killing game, I designed this fun game for my classmates to relieve their stress by enjoying winning against various programming softwares.
After playing this meteoroid 2D game, they said it boosted their confidence to fight with codes, conquering their fears to learn programming!
