UFO Sighting Data Mapping with Carto

As a grad school project for our data visualization course at Parsons School of Design, we used Carto (a spatial mapping platform) to visualize UFO sightings data showing the locations and frequencies where UFO sightings have been reported.
We used this data from Wikipedia which records UFO sightings events reported by people around the globe and throughout history.
User Interaction
The final map displays bubbles representing the numbers of UFO sighting per location. Also, users can see the historical data change by playing a timelapse.
When users hover over each bubble on the map, they can see information on tooltips showing each event's name, country, location, date, and relevant story shared by the witness.
